Your pets deserve the best care… That is why we have AIRC trained Veterinary Assistants (VAs) to assist in the care of your pets. VAs are your pets’ "nurses". Whether they are helping your vets to draw blood from your pet, place an IV catheter, or assisting in surgery, our VAs offer your pet exceptional care. Our VAs are up to date on major developments in veterinary medicine through continuing education opportunities such as seminars, and workshops as well as regular staff meetings. It is not possible for our vets to work without the continual support from the VAs. In addition they play a vital role in translation and communication between our vets and the pet owners, whatever language you speak they are there to help you understand the pet’s treatments.

Our VAs are owners of pets of various types and breeds in different life stages. They care for their pets just as much as you love yours. Caring for pets is easier and simpler when you know your own pets are in the hands of our VAs who understand your needs and worries.

Zam Tang – Veterinary Assistant

Qualifications: BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science; AIRC Certificate II Veterinary
Nursing 2007
Joined HHVC: 2005

Zam graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Biomedical Science. During his summer vacations while he studied for Biotechnology in IVE, he worked in the clinical laboratory of Ocean Park analyzing blood, stool samples of giant panda, dolphins, seals and sea lions.

He started his career as a veterinary assistant in Hung Hom Veterinary from 2005 to Feb 2010 and rejoined the clinic in March 2011. He has completed Certificate II in animal studies held by AIRC in Australia and is taking the course further by studying Certificate IV.

He is sporty by nature, besides playing ping pong, basketball, and swimming, singing karaoke and watching movies are also his talents. After his first trip to Thailand he is looking for opportunities to see more of the world and different cultures.

The most relaxing thing he finds is to sit by the beach with a cold drink and talk to his mates about his "dreams". Given his busy lifestyle, this type of occasion rarely happens, so he spends time looking after his tropical fish aquarium at home! Recently he has adopted a black and whie male shorthair kitten called Tan Tau, AKA Demon. Biting Zam’s legs is the kitten’s main hobby which makes Zam very frustrated!
