Rabbit Diet Essentials

Rabbits are strict herbivores and require a natural diet high in fiber and low in sugar. Incorrect feeding can lead to serious health issues!

Diet Recommendations

  • Unlimited Hay (85–90% of diet)

·       Should eat a volume of hay equal to their body size daily (Timothy hay for adult rabbits)

·       Function: Supports digestive health and wears down continuously growing teeth

  • Fresh Vegetables (10–15% of diet)

·       Feed about 1 cup of fresh vegetables per kilogram of body weight daily

  • Quality Rabbit Pellets (≤5% of diet)

·       Feed about 2 tablespoons of pellets per kilogram of body weight daily

Treats (≤2 times per week)

·       Preferred treats: Hay-based snacks (fruits are high in sugar-should eat less)

·       Amount: 1–2 tablespoons per serving, 1–2 times weekly
