When I first arrived in Hong Kong, I worked in a 24-hour veterinary hospital with 20 other veterinarians. In addition to providing general medical and surgical care, my responsibilities also included emergency care during the night shift. After working there for about a year, I decided to look for a position that will enable me to provide a more conscientious service to my patients and their families.
I joined Hung Hom Veterinary Hospital in July 2010. Working here has certainly been a very interesting experience for me. I acquired more skills with regards to rabbit and chinchilla medicine, as well as strengthening my knowledge in both feline and canine medicine. My current interests are internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
I believe preventative medicine and pet education plays a very important role in animal health care. Owning a pet involves a lot of responsibility and owners should aim to be able to provide the basic needs of their pets – shelter, food, water, and company (play-time/exercise). I believe that we can provide a better quality of life for the pets by working closely with the owners.
Currently I am looking after 2 cats; Mittens and Ci Ci. Both of them are lovely in their own demanding way and sometimes, it makes me wonder who the real boss in the household is. I enjoy reading, cooking, watching movies and travelling in my leisure time. I am always looking to acquire new skills and currently I am learning the Japanese language. I am hoping to attain further studies in Internal Medicine in the future.
